SEARCH – How Do You Find a Band Saw Blade for Your Band Saw (Machine)?

You can use three different search methods to choose a band saw blade: the catalogue, where you filter the parameters yourself, the configurator, which guides you directly to a suitable blade, and search by machine. You can find all three search tools together in the main menu under the “Band saw blades” tab.

YOUR BLADE – What Do You Need to Know to Find a Suitable Band Saw Blade?

💡 Ideally, it is good to know the band saw blade parameters (length, width, tooth pitch) and the material being cut. However, you can still choose a suitable band saw blade even if you know only some of the parameters or information.

If you know only your band saw, you can use search by machine. If you know one of the parameters and/or the material to be cut, the catalogue or the configurator will be very useful helpers.

PARAMETERS – How Do You Find the Right Parameters for Your Band Saw Blade?

📏 Length. This is determined by the band saw you use for cutting. It can be found in several ways, whether the blade is welded into a loop or cracked. A detailed guide, including a video, can be found in the article How to determine the length of a band saw blade?

📐 Width. This determines how the band saw blade behaves in the cut. For wood, the rule is that wide blades are ideal for long straight cuts, while narrow blades are suitable for cutting shapes (radii). When cutting metals, the blade width is usually determined by the band saw and cannot be changed. More detailed information, including specific tips, can be found in the articles Choosing the width of a band saw blade for wood and How to choose a band saw blade for cutting metal?

🪚 Tooth size (pitch). This corresponds to the size of the material being cut. Note – the pitch is not given in millimetres! The unit of pitch is the number of teeth per inch (TPI). The higher the TPI value, the finer the teeth (there are more of them in one inch and they are smaller). For each blade we state the size or type of material for which it is intended. We base this on the number of teeth in the cut during engagement. For cutting metal it is advisable to have 8 to 16 teeth in the cut (more in the table in the article How to choose a band saw blade for cutting metal?), while when cutting wood there should be roughly 2 to 8 teeth in the cut (more in the article Choosing the tooth pitch of a band saw blade for wood).

YOUR ORDER – When Will Your Band Saw Blade Arrive? Do We Have It in Stock?

If a band saw blade is marked as in stock, this means that we keep the strip material in stock. Even so, we are able to process your order quickly – usually on the same day. 😉

And why do we say that the blades are in stock? It would seem strange to us to write that a blade will be “available within five minutes”. We weld band saw blades to size for you, and given the different types and parameters of strip, there are thousands of combinations we can offer. It is not economical for us to store so many types of finished blades.

As soon as an order arrives, we are able to prepare the blades in no time. Exactly according to your requirements and with a QR code that makes your next purchase easier. We therefore deliver most orders within 2 to 3 days. On top of that, we are true experts at welding! We use German welding machines from Ideal and, because we stand behind the quality of our welds, we provide a warranty on them.

DISCOUNT – Can You Buy Band Saw Blades at a Lower Price?

For orders over 80 € you get free delivery; within our customer programme we also offer quantity discounts – the more you have in your basket, the bigger the discount you can get from us. You can find an up-to-date overview of discounts HERE.

If you are a company and you take a larger quantity of blades from us, feel free to contact us and ask for an individual discount. Once we agree, we will set it up for you in the system. Any time you then log in to your customer account, your discount will be pre-set for every order.

PAYMENT AND DELIVERY – How Can You Pay for the Blades and How Will We Deliver Them to You?

You can pay for your order in any of the following ways: by payment card online (immediately after completing the order), cash on delivery upon collection, or by bank transfer on the basis of an invoice with a 14-day due date (this option is for companies). What we do not offer, on the other hand, is advance payment by invoice or pro-forma invoice.

How exactly does it work with invoices? We issue the invoice on the day the goods are dispatched. As soon as we weld your band saw blades and prepare them for handover to the carrier, we will send the invoice to you by e-mail (later you will also receive it in the parcel with the blades).

Note – an invoice sent by e-mail does not mean that you have to pay it immediately. The key factor is the payment method you chose yourself when ordering. Did you choose online card payment? Then we have already received your payment before the invoice was sent by e-mail. Did you choose cash on delivery? Nothing changes – you pay the carrier on delivery (in cash or by card). Did you, as a company, opt for an invoice with a due date? It still applies that you have 14 days to pay.

🚚 Delivery: Once you receive the invoice by e-mail, it means that your band saw blades are finished and we are preparing them for dispatch. You can therefore expect to receive the shipment soon (within the next few days). We also inform you of the approximate delivery date of your order in the second step of the shopping basket when choosing delivery and payment.

Good afternoon, I could not find an explanation of the terms Regular Hook and Skip. How do they differ? I would be grateful for an explanation and for including this information in the "Tooth size" (pitch) section on your beautiful website. Thank you, Trejtnar

Good afternoon, Mr. Trejtnar, thank you for your inquiry and the kind words about our website. We have clearly described the tooth shapes of saw blades in this article: Tooth shape - Saw blade for wood.
Briefly on the differences:
Regular – universal tooth shape
– used only in small pitches
– suitable mainly for small wood dimensions and thin materials (e.g., plywood, thin boards, etc.)
Hook
– more aggressive tooth shape with a larger face angle
– specially developed for hardwood
– suitable for thicker materials and faster cutting
Skip
– has a larger gap between the teeth
– specially developed for softwood
– effectively removes sawdust and gets less clogged when cutting soft and wet materials
Thank you also for the suggestion – we will try to supplement the information about tooth shapes. If you would like advice on choosing a specific blade for your saw and material, please let us know.
Regards, the Simonds team.
