How to choose a bandsaw blade for wood

Full article

Which tooth form should you choose for band saw blades for wood? What do Regular, Skip and Hook mean?
Regular denotes the standard tooth form with a 0° rake angle, used with the finer pitches 14, 10, 8 and 6 TPI. The advantage of this geometry is a smooth, clean cut.
Skip denotes a geometry where every other tooth is "missing" – it is skipped. The tooth rake angle for Skip is 0° for a smooth and less aggressive entry into the cut. It is suitable for productive cutting and rough breakdown of material.
Hook denotes a hook-shaped tooth with an aggressive 10° rake angle. It is suitable for cutting hard or difficult-to-cut wood of larger diameters.
| Tooth type | Simplified comment | Common pitches |
|---|---|---|
| Regular | For a smooth, clean cut. | 6, 8, 10, 14 |
| Skip | For productive cutting and rough breaking down of material. | 3, 4, 6 |
| Hook | For cutting hard or difficult-to-cut wood of larger diameters. | 2, 3, 4 |
Good day, for a radius of 15mm you need a 6mm band (you cannot make a smaller radius with it), for a height of 20-80mm, 4tpi teeth are suitable "from the table".
So it would correspond to a 1400x6x0.65 4 skip band https://www.dudrsaw.eu/band-saw-blade-configurator-for-wood/produkt-14/1400/6-x-0-65/4-skip
Personally, however, I would rather read this article and fine-tune what you really need

Good day,
in this size, we only offer Skip. If you would like the Regular tooth shape, you would have to choose a thicker saw blade 1400x6x0.65 mm.
Thank you, have a nice day
