Band saw blade configurator for wood
Band saw blades for wood
We offer band saw blades for wood in three variants:

Carbon Flexback joinery (woodworking) band saw blades
Carbon Flexback band saw blades for joinery workshops, made from carbon steel, are toothed, set and hardened to 62 HRC. For hobby and professional use. Carbon Flexback carpentry band saw blades have universal use; they cut soft and hard wood along and across the grain, laminates, plywood, plastics and synthetic materials. The hardened cutting edge gives you long blade life and thanks to the perfectly executed weld the blade will not bounce in the cut and the cut surface will be straight and smooth.
RipperS PREMIUM headrig band saw blades
RipperS PREMIUM headrig band saw blades for log breakdown. Available in versions for hard or soft wood. RipperS PREMIUM headrig band saw blades with large teeth (tooth pitch 22,2 mm) are available in a carbon steel version with hardened teeth and also in a BIMETAL PREMIUM version with HSS teeth. The tooth geometry is adapted either for cutting hard or for cutting soft wood. We can also manufacture the geometry exactly to suit your requirements.
Carbide Wood band saw blades
These blades for bench band saws are among the very best you can find on the market. Durable carbide teeth with variable pitch will easily cope not only with woods of different hardness (including exotic hardwoods), but also with other materials such as graphite, pertinax, etc. Blades with carbide teeth are intended primarily for established manufacturers who appreciate perfectly executed details.

Hello, yes, but rather use a saw blade for meat with bones.
Thank you, good luck. Team Dudr Saw
Hello, try the 3 TPI tooth pitch - 1790x13x0.65 TPI 3 - Skip.
Best regards, Dudr Saw team
Good day, I recommend the Flexback saw blade width 6-10 mm, depending on how large the arcs you will be cutting are.
For hardwood, it is good to use a finer tooth pitch, it also depends on the cutting height, so that the gaps between the teeth are not clogged...
Which universal one can be used TPI 6 Hook, pitch suitable for hardwood and cutting height 15-50mm

Good day, thank you for your inquiry. First, I would like to point out that according to our information, the Record Power Sabre 350 bandsaw has a blade length of 2819 mm, so please double-check this. If you want a smooth, clean cut and to cut thin lamellas, I would recommend trying the Carbide Wood saw blade. It is more expensive, but the teeth are not classically hardened and set; they are made of carbide, and each tooth is the same width, resulting in a much smoother cut. It stays sharp longer, the wide tooth pitch cuts faster, and it has minimal kerf. Standard saw settings: guides as close as possible to the material being cut, the back edge of the blade should not touch the guide when idling, gently press the guides from the side so the blade does not wander, but allow the blade to run freely. Here is the link Carbide Wood saw blade 2819x20x0.6 TPI 1.5-2.
Thank you, good luck
Pavel Dudr
Good morning, thank you for your inquiry. For cutting wood with a thickness of 10 cm, we recommend the Flexback 1490 x 6 x 0.5 mm – TPI 4 Skip blade. This tooth pitch is recommended for cutting heights up to about 80 mm, but it should also work in your case. Unfortunately, larger tooth pitches (lower TPI) are not available on such narrow blades. If your blades break, we recommend reading this article: “Why do wood bandsaw blades break? We know the answer.”
Thank you and happy working, regards, Dudr Saw Team
Hello, yes, if you want to cut firewood with a band saw. But I would choose a larger tooth pitch, for example, a pitch of 3 TPI, which is designed for wood dimensions of 25-100 mm. Here is the link. Thanks to the Dudr Saw team.

Dear customer, yes, the teeth are set, hardened, and sharpened – a classic tooth shape for cutting wood.
Best regards, Dudr Saw Team
Dear Sir/Madam, thank you for your inquiry. The wheels of woodworking bandsaws usually have a diameter of at least 200 mm. Since the wheels of your machine are only 114 mm in diameter and have a narrow groove, we suspect it might be a so-called wire saw. These machines use a thin cutting wire instead of a saw blade and are more suitable for cutting soft materials – for example, foam, plastic, or very thin sheet metal. For more precise identification, please send us photos of the machine: an overall view of the bandsaw, a detailed photo of the groove on the wheel, and if possible, the manufacturer's data plate. We await the photos at the email address info@dudrsaw.eu.
Sincerely, The Dudr Saw Team
Addendum:
Good day, thank you for the detailed description and the photos. Based on these, it appears that your machine might be a small woodworking bandsaw for modeling, not a wire saw as we initially assumed. For this type of machine, rubberizing the wheels is necessary, and due to the lack of a guide, they would also need to be added retroactively – however, this can be more complicated and the result is not guaranteed. If you still wish to make the machine operational, we recommend using a Flexback blade with a width of approximately 6 mm, a thickness of 0.36 mm, and 4 TPI. A general rule for blade thickness: wheel diameter / 500 → in your case, this is 114 / 500 = 0.228 mm, but such a thin blade is not available, so the closest available is 0.36 mm. It would also help if you could measure the peripheral speed of the wheel, as most small bandsaws operate at approximately 900 m/min (e.g., PARKSIDE PBS 350 B2). This could be determined, for example, by a slow-motion recording (e.g., 10 seconds) and calculating the wheel's rotational speed. In summary: Although your machine could theoretically be converted, considering the missing components and the uncertain final outcome, we rather recommend purchasing a new machine. Recommended types that are very competitively priced and have been proven by many hobby users: PARKSIDE PBS 350 B2 (Lidl), Scheppach HBS 25, Einhell TC-SB 200/1
If you have questions regarding the selection or ordering of a blade, we would be happy to assist you.
Sincerely, The Dudr Saw Team
Hello, the narrowest band is: https://www.dudrsaw.eu/band-saw-blade-configurator-for-wood/produkt-12/2240/3-x-0-65/14-regular
For cutting this is it, how thick is the glued wood... https://www.simonds.pl/pily-tasmowej/bsa-318-presicion-wnb
Good day, if you want a width of 13 mm, you will probably be making straight cuts. We recommend you try the TPI 4 - hook pitch (Flexback 1400x13x0.65 TPI 4-Hook) for hardwood and the TPI 3 - Skip pitch (Flexbakc 1400x13x0.65 TPI 3-Skip) for softwood. The higher the TPI (teeth per inch), the smaller the dimensions you can cut. Each saw blade has a description of the material dimensions it is intended for, e.g. TPI 4 - Hook pitch - cutting height 20-80 mm, TPI 3 - Skip pitch - cutting height 25-120 mm.
Thank you and regards from Simonds.
Good day, it depends on what you mean by normal use.
I recommend you study this article, then you will choose a band exactly according to your ideas https://www.dudrsaw.eu/technical-articles-and-advice/how-to-choose-a-band-saw-blade-for-wood-2
S.Kolařík | kolarik@simonds.cz
Good day, here width 8x0.65 Flexback 2050x8x0.65 mm or width 10x0.65 Flexback 2050x10x0.65 mm - you just need to choose the tooth pitch according to the cutting depth. Thank you, sincerely, the Simonds team.
Hello, we can provide sharpening of log saw blades from 32mm width. We do not sharpen Flexback bandsaws as the cost associated with transport and sharpening would exceed the price of the blade.
Sincerely, Team Dudr, info@simonds.cz
Hello, with a hardened RipperS Premium band saw blade, you can cut 2–3 m³ of logs. If you use a bimetal RipperS Premium, you can cut several times more. Depending on the quality of the wood and experience. What type of wood it is, whether there is soil or pebbles on it. We have customers who cut even 10 m³ of logs with a bimetal blade, but these are experienced professionals who sense when the band saw blade is a bit dull and take it off immediately. Always cut for 2 hours (depending on how much time you spend handling the wood), then let the band saw blade be sharpened and rest for a day. If it is still sharp, you can use it the next day without re-sharpening.
Thank you and good luck. Pavel Dudr.
Good morning, yes, a band saw blade for wood can also be used for cutting plastic materials, such as PVC pipes. In the case of thin-walled materials, such as sewer pipes, we recommend a TPI 6 – Regular tooth pitch (tooth pitch approximately 4 mm), which we believe may work better in cutting thin walls.
Regarding your question: yes, a 4 TPI pitch (number of teeth per inch) corresponds to a pitch of 6.35 mm (25.4 / 4 = 6.35 mm). Band saw blades become dull over time, usually the set also reduces and the blade is already subjected to material stress; for this reason, we do not perform sharpening and in general it is not recommended.
Thank you for your question. Kind regards, Dudr Saw team
Hello, yes, it is possible to make a 5100 mm long bandsaw blade. If it is a bandsaw for wood, we recommend using our online configurator, where you just need to enter the length 5100 mm and choose the blade parameters. The configurator is available here: https://www.dudrsaw.eu/band-saw-blade-configurator-for-wood/5100 The price is displayed based on the selected blade width. DudrSaw Team
Dear Simone Botto, the RipperS Premium bandsaw blades are custom-made and must be not only welded, but also sharpened and set. Production is often very busy, which is why delivery unfortunately takes 1–3 weeks depending on the number of orders.
However, these are bandsaw blades of the highest quality, specially prepared for cutting logs: it is worth ordering them a little in advance. Try it and you will see that you will be satisfied.
Best regards, The Dudr Saw Team
Dear customer, the Carbon Flexback blade is designed exclusively for cutting wood or, at most, plastic materials. It is not suitable for cutting metals. For cutting metal, we recommend using a blade specifically designed for this purpose, such as the Epic GP, which is a bimetallic blade suitable for use on professional metal band saws. Furthermore, if you have a wood band saw, we strongly advise against cutting metals: the blade speed is too high for steel and can cause damage to the machine, the blade, or even be dangerous for the operator. To learn more about this topic, we recommend reading this article: “Cutting metal on a wood band saw? Better not. We explain why”
Thank you for your question. Best regards, The Dudr Saw Team
Hello, if you are already using our blades, try using larger teeth. Usually our blades should last a long time.
Thanks to the Dudr Saw team.
Hello, it is possible to use the hard variant on softwood. I am sending a link with a description of the tooth shape: https://www.dudrsaw.eu/technical-articles-and-advice/tooth-shape-band-saw-blade-for-wood
Good morning, you can contact us at the email address info@dudrsaw.it
The band saw blades are added to the cart individually.< /p>
Hello, yes, you can use it on the Scheppach Basa1 (Flexback 1490 x 3 x 0.64 mm TPI 14 - Regular).
Good luck, Dudr Saw Team.
Dear Mr. Tóth Péter, thank you for your inquiry. For a 20 cm diameter wheel and a 163 cm long band, we recommend the following saw blades – they work well for cutting patterns into the ends of pine beams 8–10 cm thick:
First recommendation (most common choice) Flexback 1630 × 8 × 0.65 mm – TPI 4 Hook Ideal for general cuts, with good feed, clean cut (Our recommendation matches what is described in our technical article.)
Alternative – specifically for softwood (pine) Flexback 1630 × 6 × 0.65 mm – TPI 4 Skip The “Skip” tooth design works particularly well on softwoods
Alternative for small diameter wheels Flexback 1630 × 6 × 0.50 mm – TPI 4 Skip The 0.5 mm thickness better withstands tight curves and small wheels.
The saw blade is less stressed, there is less chance of cracking.
Best regards, the Simonds team
Thank you for your interest! The 6x0.36 mm TPI 10 (2.5 mm tooth pitch) saw blade can indeed be a good choice for cutting 18-20 mm thick solid oak and beech wood in an arc.
If a very small radius is not required and you do not have excessively small wheels (smaller than 250 mm), we recommend trying the 6x0.65 mm TPI 10 saw blade as well, which is stronger and thus stiffer.
We wish you good luck, and if you have any questions, feel free to write to us!
Best regards, The Dudr Saw team
Hello, yes, for both soft and hardwood. Best regards, Simonds team.
It depends on the width of this saw blade, but generally I would recommend TPI 2 or 3 for a 20 cm diameter log. Regards, Dudr team.

Good day, Carbide Wood bands with carbide teeth are primarily intended for hardwood or exotic wood, where precision and long-lasting sharpness are important. For pallet wood, soiled or with small stones, I do not recommend it – such contaminants damage the edge of any tool, including carbide. For cutting pallets, a cheaper band with hardened teeth (Carbon Flexback) would be more suitable, which is easier to replace after damage. Of course, you can try Carbide Wood and compare the durability, but the risk of rapid wear is high.
Regards, The Simonds Team
Good day, unfortunately we could not find information about the Hager HBS 12 / BS-12RA bandsaw. The Hager brand does not usually produce bandsaws, so there was likely a mistake in the model name. In order for us to select the appropriate bands, please provide additional information: a photo of the machine's nameplate or the exact dimensions: length and width of the current band. Thanks to this, we will be able to precisely determine the correct size and suggest suitable universal bands for cutting wood and metal. However, please remember that bandsaws intended for wood are usually not suitable for cutting metal.
Sincerely, Pavel Dudr
Hello, it still depends on the width of the saw blade that can be used on the machine. If you are cutting lengthwise, use the widest possible blade. You can choose a blade with a length of 4500 mm here, but you have to specify the width to see the products we offer. Choose the pitch according to the size of the material being cut.
Thank you and have a nice day, the Simonds team.
Hello, is that a saw? I searched for this saw on the internet and found nothing.
Basically, you can use Ripper bands designed specifically for saws. If it is another type of saw, then the matter is more complicated, as it depends on how wide a band can be used in your saw.
Please contact us and we will resolve it, we probably won't be able to resolve it properly in the comments.

Good afternoon, we do not provide this service and for such a small belt, the cost of sharpening would far exceed the cost of a new belt.
Good day, generally I would recommend a blade with 3Hook teeth (hardwood 25-120mm) or 4Hook (hardwood 20-80).
Choose the width depending on whether you will be splitting straight cuts or cutting out (see article: https://www.simonds.cz/technicke-clanky-a-rady/jak-vybrat-pilovy-pas-na-drevo-2 ).
S. Kolařík
Good day, Mr. Hobza, yes, both mentioned blades can be used in the Scheppach Basa 3 saw.
- 13 × 0.65 mm, TPI 10 Regular – for curved and clean cuts, soft and hard wood.
- 16 × 0.8 mm, TPI 3 Hook – for long straight cuts, faster feed.
for each saw blade, we indicate the cutting height; the higher the TPI number (teeth per inch), the smaller the teeth. If you choose too fine teeth for too large material, the blade may choke.
This article provides a graphical illustration of the diameters you can curve with a saw blade – Article Selection of saw blade width for wood
All the best, regards, the Simonds team
Good day, yes, the experience is that a thicker band is stiffer and holds better when cutting straight. If your bandsaws don't break (due to bending on the wheels), feel free to use the 0.8 mm thickness. We recommend a bandsaw blade thickness – wheel diameter divided by 500, in your case it is 350/500=0.7 – so using 0.8 mm may not be a problem if you don't cut daily. It is also important to choose the correct tooth pitch, the smaller the number, the larger the teeth. for example, we recommend a pitch of 3 TPI for a cutting height of up to 120 mm. A larger pitch of 2 TPI is offered only in a width of 19x0.8 and in a thickness of 0.65, we do not produce such large teeth.
Good luck, regards
Pavel Dudr
Good afternoon, the band will fit the saw. But it is a table saw, Ripper is a band for logs. I would rather recommend looking for Flexback bands
SK
Good day, for this saw (and many other similar ones) the Flexback band of length 1400mm, thickness 0.5/0.65mm and width 3-13mm, depending on the intended use, is suitable.
We have a handy article on how to choose the right saw blade https://www.dudrsaw.eu/technical-articles-and-advice/how-to-choose-a-band-saw-blade-for-wood-2
The manufacturer usually includes 1400x10x0.65 8tpi in the box
Stanislav Kolařík | kolarik@simonds.cz
Good afternoon,
for very small radii and fine cutting, I recommend the Flexback 3x0.65 tpi 14 Reg saw band, and for regular cutting, the Flexback 6x0.65 tpi 8 Reg band
Sincerely, Dudr team, info@simonds.cz
Good afternoon, if you are sawing logs, we only offer RipperS blades with a 22.2mm pitch (link here). We recommend sharpening both hardened teeth and bi-metals for logs, as it is more economical. Sharpening, re-sawing, collection and delivery are provided by the company https://www.dudrsaw.eu/. If you are probably sharpening "in the notch" and have a disc 25.4 mm wide, it should be enough to buy a disc 22.2 mm wide (the mentioned company also offers it). Carbon Flexback and CarbidWood saw blades are for joiners and the largest pitch is 2TPI (13mm).
Good day,
it is of course possible, but if you don't have a larger quantity of bands for repair or are not from the vicinity, the profitability is rather debatable (a new band will cost almost the same as the repair and shipping). However, if you want to send it to us, send it with a cover letter to our address.
New blade... you can use blades from 3mm to 16mm in this saw, but with the requirement of 18cm, the choice is limited to blades where we offer large tooth spacing. Thus, the following blades result
Flexback 13x0.65 tpi 3 Skip or 4 Hook
Flexback 16x0.8 tpi 3 Skip or 4 Hook
However, if you need to cut smaller things or cut out some radii, these blades will not be so suitable. I recommend you read the article on choosing the right saw blade.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Good day, thank you for your inquiry. For the Metabo BAS 261 (table band saw for wood) and for fine, precise cuts, we recommend this saw blade: Saw blade 1712 × 6 × 0.65 mm – Carbon Flexback, specifically Flexback 1712 × 6 × 0.65 mm, TPI 10 – Regular. This is a blade with a fine tooth pitch (10 teeth per inch), suitable for a cutting height of approx. 3–20 mm, which ensures a smooth and clean cut without tearing the fibers. With this product, you can also watch a video demonstrating fine cutting on the Metabo band saw. The Carbon Flexback saw blade is made of high-quality carbon steel with hardened teeth, which ensures excellent cutting performance and long service life for both hobby and professional use. It is suitable for cutting soft and hard wood, plywood, laminated materials, and other wood materials. In general, for fine cuts, it is advisable to choose a higher number of teeth per inch (TPI) – more teeth mean a smoother cut and fewer cracks in the material.
Sincerely and wishing you a nice day, the Dudr Saw team
Good day, Mr. Bittmann, thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we no longer sharpen saw bands. We used to offer this service, but it turned out that sharpening is quite costly. Older bands were often stretched or cracked and already had a small tooth gap, so after sharpening they did not cut as well as a new band. For this reason, it is almost always more advantageous for customers to purchase a new band. We only provide sharpening for saw bands for logs with a width of 32 mm and a TPI pitch of 1.1. We wish you a nice day, the Simonds.cz team
Hello Mr. Ružička, thank you for the message. Please send us a photo of the broken band - ideally so that the break point is visible - via email to info@simonds.cz. Based on the photo, we will assess whether we will send you a new piece under warranty.
You can find more information about the weld guarantee in the article as well:👉 Saw band weld guarantee
Good luck, regards Simonds team
Good day, thank you for your inquiry. For cutting shapes, use a narrow saw blade. In this article - How to choose a wood saw blade?#2 you will learn what radius you can cut with a given width. For example, with a blade width of 3 mm you can cut a radius of 3 mm, with a blade width of 6 mm you can cut a radius of 15 mm. Therefore, we would recommend you to try the narrower blades that we offer, e.g. Flexback 1490x3x0.65mm TPI 14, Flexback 1490x6x0.5mm TPI 6-Skip or 4 Skip, Flexback 1490x4x0.65mm TPI 10 - regular. Choose the tooth pitch according to the size of the material being cut and the teeth for soft wood (this is always indicated for each blade).
Thank you, good luck, the Dudr Saw team
Good day, for the cutting height you mentioned, I would choose the largest tooth from our offer: 2 Hook - the blade is primarily intended for cutting hardwood, but it is not a problem to cut softwood with this blade as well. Regards, Team Dudr.
Good afternoon, we address the problem of breaking blades in this article. With a blade thickness of 0.5 mm, you should not have a problem. After work, you should loosen the blade. We would recommend 1400x6x0.5 TPI 6 and you could also try the 1400x6x0.36 TPI 10 blade, and then the popular 3x0.65 TPI 14 blade, which is for the finest cutting of shapes. Unfortunately, it is currently sold out. Thank you, good luck. The Simonds Team
Good day, thank you for your inquiry. This is just a recommended value, but the band can also cut a cutting height of 400mm. For logs, we recommend RipperS PREMIUM bands with a tooth pitch of TPI 1.1. However, these bands are manufactured from a width of 32mm.
Sincerely, Dudr team.
Good day, you can use CarbideWood 13mm. The second option is some more durable wider blade. For example Flexback 16x0.65 3skip
Good day, thank you for your inquiry. The FlexBack with a thickness of 0.65 mm will have approximately the same kerf as Carbide Wood. Carbide Wood may have a smoother cut.
You can find the table of kerfs for FlexBack blades here.
If you can get a 16 width for your saw and want a cheaper option than Carbide Wood, then try the meat saw blade, which customers have had good experiences with regarding kerf.
It is 16x0.5 mm and has a small kerf precisely because of the kerf (approx. 0.9mm).
Flexback is also available in the 13x0.5 width, which has a smaller kerf than 13x0.65.
Whether I recommend Carbide Wood, if you have a larger saw or cut small dimensions (so that the saw does not stop), I definitely recommend trying it.
Thank you, I wish you a nice day
Pavel Dudr
Good afternoon, the RIPPER band is required for the carriage and it is for both soft and hardwood.
From the question under another article, but I infer that this also concerns a Holzman BBS350 saw and here, according to the instructions, a 2750 x 19 x 0.9 mm band is required
Standa Kola řík
Good day, according to the manual, a 2750 x 19 x 0.9 mm blade is suitable for this saw, so yes.
S.Kolařík
Good day, you will find both variants in our e-shop. But for shelves, I think you need more straight cuts, so I would look more at a wider band (10 or 13mm). For hardwood teeth Hook or regular. for 30-50mm teeth 4tpi or 6tpi.
For cutting shelves myself, I would probably take 1400x10x0.65 4HOOK https://www.dudrsaw.eu/band-saw-blade-configurator-for-wood/produkt-11/1400/10-x-0-65/4-hook but of course, decide for yourself what you intend to use it for.
S.K.
Good day, for nylon, our customers usually use the Epic GP (bi-metal) metal saw blade. For a cut through a material with a diameter of 50 mm, I would choose a tooth pitch of TPI 3/4 or smaller TPI 4/6 (teeth per inch).
Thank you, regards Pavel Dudr
Good afternoon, I don't know where you clicked, so I can't answer precisely.
Regarding the band tension, I don't quite understand what you mean by "pulls to the right", but if your saw is cutting crookedly, it's either a matter of adjustment or a warranty claim.
Professionalism isn't about width; a wider blade tracks better in the cut, making it more suitable for long, straight cuts. A narrow blade is good for intricate cutting but makes it harder to maintain a straight cut.
The ideal is "wheel diameter / 500", but 0.65 mm blades are commonly used for this saw.
We recommend a width of 8 mm for such a small saw because it's a universal compromise; it's wide enough for straight cuts and at the same time narrow enough to be able to cut out something with it.
For hardwood, it's good to look for blades with a Hook tooth.
I strongly recommend studying this article, I think you'll find most of the information you need for the right choice there: https://www.dudrsaw.eu/technical-articles-and-advice/how-to-choose-a-band-saw-blade-for-wood-2

Hello,
The metal cutting bandsaw blade for the Parkside saw from Lidl has dimensions 13x0.65 x 1140mm, here is the link to the blade in our e-shop: metal cutting bandsaw blade; for the wood cutting bandsaw blade, you can choose a width of 3 - 13mm and a length of 1400mm, here is the link to a 6mm wide blade, which is also suitable for finer cuts: wood cutting bandsaw blade; The tooth pitch (number of teeth per inch) should be chosen according to the dimensions of the material being cut. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Good afternoon, if it is a thickness of 55mm, then I recommend the Carbon Flexback saw band with a tooth pitch of 6 or 4 TPI. For your saw, a band width of up to 13mm is possible and the recommended thickness is 0.65mm.
The width of the bands depends on the size of the radius you will be cutting.

Good day,
as you correctly assume, more types of blades will be needed.
For the bowls, I would recommend something with large teeth for better sawing. I think the Flexback 19x0.8x2270mm with 2 hook teeth (intended for cuts from 40-200mm) would fit best here, or I would recommend trying our new product CarbidWood 20x0.6x2270mm - it is intended for cutting hard and exotic woods, or conversely, for cutting common woods, but with high efficiency. In addition, it has the advantage of a narrow kerf and a very nice cut.
For the plywood, I would most recommend the Flexback 13x0.65x2270mm with 4hook or 6regular teeth, depending on how thick the plywood will finally be. In case you will be cutting out some more complex shapes, feel free to go for a band with a smaller "tooth count".
Or call us and we will fine-tune it further
